Obituary of Wayne C. Mills

Chester, NY - Formerly of Greenwood Lake, NY

Wayne Clarence Mills passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at his home in Chester, NY. He was 63 years old. The son of William A. Mills Sr. and Minnie Edna Mills, Wayne was born on June 18, 1961, in Ramapo, NY.

Wayne attended Monroe-Woodbury High School, worked in maintenance for IBM during his teenage years and worked hard all of his life as an exceptional tinsmith. He enjoyed fishing with friends and family, he loved his dogs, Gizmo and Muggsy, whom he shared many years with, he liked to work on cars and motorcycles, and will always be remembered as a happy, friendly, loving man who had a warm welcoming smile.

Survivors include his beloved older brothers, Norman A. Mills and Glen H. Mills, his dearly loved step-children Kenneth Lee Leight, Matthew Adam Leight, and Kasandra Janine Marie Frye, and their children.

Wayne was predeceased by his wife, Marie Elizabeth R. Mills, who he loved dearly, as well as his brothers William A. Mills Jr. and Roland L. Mills.

Wayne will be missed and forever remembered in our hearts.

Memorial visiting will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Zygmunt-Murtie Funeral Home, 4 Oak Street, Greenwood Lake, NY 10925. A memorial service will take place at 2:30pm at the funeral home.
