Obituary of Susan Toddy Trazino

Greenwood Lake, NY

Susan “Toddy” Trazino was born in Queens, New York, on August 18, 1975, to Susan and Arthur Blouin. She was the seventh of thirteen siblings and grew up in Richmond Hill and Woodhaven, New York, surrounded by the warmth and energy of a large, loving family.

At the age of 20, she moved with her family to Greenwood Lake, New York. It was there that she met the love of her life—her beloved husband, John. Together, they built a beautiful life and brought into the world four incredible children: John Alexander, Sebastian, Saoirse, and Zachary.

Though she wasn’t born there, Toddy embraced Greenwood Lake as her true home. She adapted quickly, fully immersing herself in the spirit of the community and becoming a proud and passionate “Laker.” She gave generously of her time, energy, and heart to various local organizations.

Toddy was a valued employee of the Greenwood Lake Public Library, where she brought her signature warmth, compassion, and dedication to everything she did. Her work there reflected her deep love for community, and helping others—qualities that made her a cherished presence to all.

She was also a devoted and faithful member of Holy Rosary Parish, where her faith was a quiet but steady source of strength and guidance throughout her life. She was especially proud to be a part of the GWL Gaelic Cultural Society, where she and John were honored as the Celts of the Year in 2024. Toddy always showed up for those in need, enriching the lives of everyone around her with her kindness and commitment.

Toddy’s zest for life and love of adventure were matched only by her unwavering devotion to family. Whether it was the family she lovingly created with John or the one she came from—siblings, in-laws, and her beautiful circle of chosen sisters—her love knew no boundaries. She was a second mother to many, and treated each one of her many friends as family and a steady presence to anyone who needed her. She loved with intention, lived with joy, and gave herself wholeheartedly to those she cherished. Her spirit was magnetic, her laughter unforgettable, and the depth of her love truly unmatched.

Toddy is survived by her devoted husband, John Trazino, and their four beloved children: John Alexander, Sebastian, Saoirse, and Zachary Trazino. She is also survived by her mother, Susan Blouin, and her siblings: Catherine, Paul, Lucille, Margaret, Anne, Arthur, Theodore, Elizabeth, and James.

Through marriage, she was blessed with a second set of siblings — her in-laws — who became family in every sense of the word.

She leaves behind a wide circle of nieces and nephews — all of whom she loved deeply and nurtured with her special warmth.

Toddy is also survived by her father-in-law, John Trazino Sr., with whom she shared a meaningful bond rooted in family and love.
