Obituary of David Kolin

White Plains, NY

Another angel returned to heaven. David Kolin, a resident of White Plains, NY passed away on Monday, January 12th, 2026. He was 74 yrs old. 

David was a happy and beloved person.  He wasn’t the type of person to use words to communicate, but when you got to know David, you knew what he was saying. He was determined and enthusiastic about life.  He loved to celebrate with singing and dancing, go to musical events, go bowling, play basketball, and watch movies. If there was ever an award for the biggest Titanic movie fan, it was David. He was captivated by this movie. But he was also captivated by his girlfriend, Nancy. David and Nancy had a long-term friendship and David would not leave the YWCA until it was exactly the time to leave because he wanted to spend it with Nancy for as long as he could. David was also an avid artist. He loved to paint and draw. Many of those who knew David most likely have pictures he gave them. David had artistic flair. He enjoyed decorating his hats, his room, and his lunchbox. He was proud of his work he and he had a great sense of humor and a sparkle in his eye.  He loved his staff where he resided and was very fond of them. If his peers were going to a ballgame, David was the first one out the door even when he used a walker. He didn’t let that stop him.

David will be sadly missed by his peers and staff from Davis IRA, his girlfriend, Nancy, his peers and staff at the ARC of Westchester day program, his CAB representatives, his care manager, and his many friends and acquaintances that he has known. David left us unexpectedly, but we know he’s in heaven and painting the best picture of all. He is predeceased by his parents, David Kolin Sr and Sonja Adelberg Kolin.

Friends may gather on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 1652 Central Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10710. A funeral service will take place at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Letchworth Village Cemetery, 119 (123 for GPS) Thiells-Mount Ivy Road, Haverstraw, NY, immediately following.
