Brandon Monaco

Obituary of Brandon Chase Monaco

Unionville, NY

Brandon Monaco, a resident of Unionville, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday the 15th of February 2026, at home. He was 19. The son of Patsy and Victoria Monaco, Brandon was born on the 20th of June 2006 in Puyallup, Washington. He attended an at home school program provided by Minisink Valley School District. He had countless hours of therapy and clearly had his favorite therapist. He would cut you down with his eyes if he didn’t like what you were making him do. He enjoyed his speech therapist, Beth as she told him the most animated stories and was a character herself. He didn’t particularly like physical therapy, but the duo of Bill and Jen made it almost tolerable as he would frequently sneak a smile in during a session. Brandon was slated to graduate in June 2027.

Brandon was a profoundly sweet soul with an irresistible charm. His big brown eyes sparkled beneath his long, thick eyelashes, and his jet black velvety curly hair added to his captivating presence. His smile was a heartwarming gift that could melt even the coldest hearts. Though his body may have been restrictive, due to his nonaccidental traumatic brain injury, his spirit remained unbridled. Don’t be fooled-he was very smart and knew how to advocate for himself. When he was upset, it was wise to figure out the source of his frustration and fix it promptly. He expressed his preferences unapologetically. One-on-one time with people brought him immense joy, whether it was playing games on his iPad with caregivers or listening to music with his mom. He especially found pleasure in watching Murder, she wrote in the wee hours of the night with Mom. It is the times like these that Brandon relished and so did all those whose heart he touched. He is a bright light that will forever shine in our hearts. His memory will forever live in the vast stories that we share with each other and those who were not fortunate enough to meet this amazing little boy who didn’t let his disability define him.

Brandon is survived by his mother Victoria Monaco of Unionville, NY, his brothers Cody and Sophie of Pine Bush, NY, Kyle and Samantha of Milford PA, Darrell Conklin and Kim of Montgomery, NY, Ryan of Bainbridge, NY, Eric, Jason, Ty, Isaiah and Sebastian and; his sisters Nicole, Julia, and Natalie all of Unionville, NY, April, Harley, Hailee of Buckeye, Arizona. Aunt Dee and Andre of Moulton, Alabama and Auntie K and Rob of Monroe, North Carolina. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Patsy Monaco.

Funeral services will take place at a later date.
