Obituary of Ellen T. Galiano

Ellen T. Galiano, August 14, 1959 – August 15, 2013 Mount Hope, NY Ellen T. Galiano of Mount Hope, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Valley View Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Goshen, surrounded by her loving family. She was 54 years old. The daughter of Emma Yautz Murray and the late Francis Messina, Ellen was born on August 14, 1959 in Jersey City, NJ. Ellen worked as a Home Health Aide for Elant Community Health Services in Goshen. Survivors include her beloved husband, Joseph, at home; daughter, Dana Galiano and her fiance, Michael Maher of New Paltz, NY; son, Tony Galiano of Middletown, NY, mother, Emma Murray of Hackettstown, NJ; sisters: Deborah Messina of Hackettstown, NJ and Lori Messina of West Milford, NJ; brother, Frank Messina and his wife, Michelle of Norwood, NJ as well as several nieces and nephews. A family statement reads: “Ellen touched the lives of everyone who knew her.” Visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc., 1525 Burlingham Rd., Pine Bush, NY 12566. A Funeral Service was held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Kevin Gallagher officiating. Cremation was private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellen’s name may be made to The Elant Foundation, 46 Harriman Drive, Goshen, NY 10924.
