Helen T. Reilly, a resident of Greenville, NY passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, September 12, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center with loved ones by her side. She was 63.
The daughter of the late Mary and Thomas Reilly, Helen was born on November 16, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY. Helen grew up in the Bronx with her three siblings. On November 9, 1979 she went on to be appointed to the NYPD. Helen was then promoted to Detective in September of 1988 and retired in December 2000 after 21 years of service. Though Helen was passionate about her career with the NYPD, her greatest joy came from her title as mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her four children; Thomas Stedina and his wife Jane, Regan Cosentino and her husband Christopher, Matthew Shatinsky, and Christine Shatinsky and her spouse Kevin Burleson; her grandchildren: Bella, Nate, Aron, Logan and Paityn, siblings; James Reilly and his wife Maureen, Mary Prigge and husband Frank, and Patricia Feierman as well as her husband Steven. Helen was further survived by her loving companion David Hedgecock as well as many loved ones including nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the beach at High Point State Park in Sussex, NJ followed by a luncheon hosted by Helen’s children.
