Obituary of Thomas Coulter
Stony Point, NY
Thomas A. Coulter, surrounded by his family and friends, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 29, 2019. He was 75. The son of the late John and Mercedes Donnelly Coulter, Thomas was born on July 24, 1944 in Long Island City, NY. Thomas was a retired Sergeant for the New York State Park Police and owner and operator of Coulter’s Creative Financial Planning for over 30 years.
Thomas faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud Vietnam Combat Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, the Free and Accepted Masons, the North Rockland Chamber of Commerce, and the Rockland County Emerald Society, the Rockland County Shields, Orange County Shields, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 333, Stony Point Ambulance Corps Commissioner and a lifetime member to the Marine Corps League.
He is survived by his sister Mary Carracino, brother Joseph (Lynda) Coulter, son John Coulter, daughters Tracy (Joseph) Cataldo, Mercedes Coulter, grandchildren Brandon Roberts, Jake Cataldo, Luke Cataldo, Katie Coulter & Aurelia Montanile Coulter as well as many precious nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Thomas was pre-deceased by his parents, his beloved sister Anne (Coulter) Nigro, his daughter Diana Rogers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, 73 N Liberty Dr, Stony Point, NY 10980. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:30am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 26 John St. in Stony Point. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow at the Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Road, New Hempstead, NY 10977.
