Obituary of Marguerite Ann Rysdyke

Bloomingburg, NY - Formerly of Cornwall, NY

Marguerite (Peggy) A. Rysdyke passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Garnett Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY. The daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Douglas) O'Neill, she was born on August 1, 1935 in Ellensburg, WA.

Peggy was a resident of Cornwall, NY before moving to Port St. Lucie, FL in 1987. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary High School in Newburgh, NY. She married Donald (Louie) Rysdyke on November 25, 1956 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-On- Hudson, NY. They were married until his passing on April 18, 2001.

She was a Certified Respiratory Therapist at Cornwall, Horton and St. Luke’s hospitals, retiring at the age of 74 from Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, FL.

Peggy was a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis and a Charismatic. She committed her later years to religious studies and prayer. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Bloomingburg, NY.

She is survived by her 5 children, John (Kelly), Catherine (Jason) Mayhew, Donald (Barbara), Donna (Michael) Woods, and David (Jody). She has 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her three brothers, Thomas (Vicki) O’Neill, John (Andrea) O’Neill and Charles (Joan) O’Neill and her siblings-in-law, Nellie Mazur, Eleanor Conklin and Ernest (Betty) Rysdyke.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 10:30 AM, at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
