Obituary of Charles Robert Wallack

Mr. Charles ‘Charlie’ Wallack, a long-time resident of Garnerville, NY passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY. He was 78. The son of the late Stanley Joseph and Anna Marie Haug Wallack, Charles was born on January 26, 1943 in Weehawken, NJ.
He grew up in Edgewater, NJ. In his younger years Charlie was a boy scout. He earned numerous merit badges and always talked about his swimming accomplishment and how he enjoyed camping as a scout. He was also an alter boy at Good Shepherd Church in Fort Lee, NJ. He enjoyed ham radio he would do with his brother, Bill, for the civil defense. He belonged to a car club and enjoyed racing his GTO. Charlie worked as a parts manager for Joe Heidt Motors for a majority of his working career. He enjoyed the annual trips to Seaside Heights boardwalk. He enjoyed the annual camping trips with the family. He also enjoyed fishing. Over the past few years he really enjoyed completing the soduko puzzles and playing candy crush. He enjoyed complaining about all of his children.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Janet Wallack. His brothers William ‘Bill’ Wallack; Henry ‘Hank’ Wallack and sister Charlotte Lewers. His daughters, Johanna Smith; Ivonna (James) Freeman. His grandchildren, Rachel Smith; Christopher and Jessica Freeman. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charlie is predeceased by his son John Heiloo and his Aunt Charlotte Anacker.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the TJ McGowan Son's Funeral Home, 133 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY 10927. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tueday, June 22, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Peter's R.C. Church, 115 Broadway in Haverstraw. Burial will immediately follow at the All Faith's Cemetery, 6729 Metropolitan Ave, Middle Village, NY 11379.
