Obituary of Irilia Piastrellini-Sanchez
Attleboro, MA
Irilia “Lala” Piastrellini-Sanchez of Attleboro, MA was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She unexpectedly gained her angel wings on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the age of 96, after living a life full of love and beautiful memories.
She was born to the late Eugenio and Palmenia Piastrellini on January 22, 1925, in San Rafael, Mendoza, in the country of Argentina. Lala was a very talented and a devoted person, in every aspect of her life. In Argentina, she began her adult life as a proficient seamstress and a faithful, loyal wife to the late Juan Adolfo Sanchez. Upon her husband’s passing, she immigrated to the United States, where she settled in New York with her family.
Lala enjoyed her role as a homemaker and thrived in her love of parenting. She was a terrific mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending every waking moment with her grandchildren, nurturing them both from birth. Ultimately, she became a great-grandmother and continued to spread her love through the new generation. “Abuela” cherished her family more than anything in the world, passing down many of her skills of sewing, crocheting, knitting and cooking to her children, grandchildren and great-children. Her legacy lives on through them.
Lala is survived by her loving son, Adolfo of Attleboro, MA and his four fur children: Sophie, Niko, Buddy & Moo-Moo; her son-in-law, Pedro Iucciolino of Forest Hills, NY; her granddaughter, Jessica Stueber of Pine Bush, NY, along with her dear husband Joseph, and their precious children, Logan (15) and Raelynn (10), and furbabies: Justice and Raider; her grandson, Peter Iucciolino of Forest Hills, NY, along with his partner in love Leyki Diaz, and their furbaby Charley; and her grand-niece Romina Carrion of Mendoza, Argentina, along with her daughter Olivia. Lala was sadly predeceased by her daughter, Maria Cristina Iucciolino of New Hyde Park, NY; her sisters, Pichona, Clara, Teresa and her daughter, Teresa “Pirucha;” as well as her brother Rodolfo, all of Argentina. Lala is further survived by several other relatives and friends that reside in Argentina.
